This month, through out the land people are focused on thankfulness!
At ‘A Wish Your Heart Makes’ we too have a lot to be thankful for.
All of our enchanted princess, and their friends in the castle are sharing stories of love, kindness, and giving thanks.
We are reminded by this sweet little girl that the preciousness of a child and the power of imagination are truly things to be thankful for!
Children are the future. We must nurture their minds, lift them up and love them.
They are our greatest resource. They are the dream makers and the leaders of tomorrow!
There are no mistakes or accidents. Every child was made the way they were meant to be.
For each and every one of them we are thankful!
What are you thankful for? We’d love to hear from you!
Princess Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother grants her a very special wish!
You can watch the magic unfold Monday, November 12th beginning at 10 am at the Porterville Parade!
Cinderella’s pumpkin will be transformed into a beautiful white coach to transport her royal highness and all of her princess friends along Main Street as they celebrate the beginning of the holiday season!
but watch out…
Captain Hook and his band of salty pirates might try to spoil all of the fun when they arrive in their giant swashbuckling pirate ship dancing the “Never Jig” to taunt Peter Pan!
But don’t worry, Tinker Belle will fly in just in time sprinkling pixie dust and will ask all of the children (lost boys included) to help save Peter by thinking their most happy thoughts!
You won’t want to miss this exciting fairytale unfold along the parade route!
Today is Election Day!
I hope many of you will show patriotism by casting your votes no matter what political views you may have!
Patriotism and pride in our country are important characteristics of a strong society and something to be modeled and taught to younger generations!
Here are more ways to show patriotism:
- Be polite and considerate to neighbors, colleagues, the elderly, and handicapped. Be ready to lend a helping hand if they are in need
- Be a good role model for children.
- Commit yourself to your job because it is your contribution to the productivity of the nation’s economy
- Recycle and reuse to help create a cleaner healthier world!
- Fly our nation’s flag and if you don’t already know them, learn the lyrics of the national anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner”
- Get involved in community programs!
‘A Wish Your Heart Makes’ is hosting our first annual Facebook Halloween costume contest!
We want to see your little boys and “ghouls” dressed for candy collecting chaos!
Entering the contest is easy!
Just post your picture on our Facebook fan page by November 1st!
Our very own enchanted characters will be stopping in to comment on their favorites and award a “Magical Mail Wish-a-Gram” to the Winner!
Our Costume contest winner will be delighted to receive this personalized letter that is hand written by their favorite Character!
Each letter brings the magic of a character to life, encourages imagination with pixie dust sprinkled correspondence, and then is hand stamped with our official unique royal seal before it is delivered to the child’s very own mail box!
Character choices are endless from Tinker bell, a Royal Princess, or Super Hero, to The Tooth Fairy, and Santa Clause and everyone in between!
A Winner will be announced on our Facebook fan page!
“Then walk the plank!” Captain Hook said to Tink….
Peter, Tink, Captain Hook and his band of pirates transport your Halloween party guests to deep inside the wonder of Neverland with this plundering Pirate Party game!
What you need:
- One piece of wood (1′x 8′) with two smaller pieces (12″ x4″) nailed underneath each end to elevate the “plank off the floor
- Blue shimmery fabric
- Stuffed or plastic animals like crocodiles, sharks, star fish, octopus, etc.
Position plank on the floor and arrange blue fabric around to make “water” with sea life lurking about.
How to play:
- Divide guests into groups.
- Blind fold each guest and challenge them to walk the length of the “plank” without falling off to earn point for their team.
- The team with the most points wins a prize!
1 point – For reaching the end of the plank without falling,
5 points – For completing the task of hopping on one foot all the way from one end of the plank to the other.
10 points – For walking backwards all the way.
-1 point – Deduction for one foot touching the ocean.
Loose a turn – When falling off the plank completely.
Add your own challenges or let the guests add their own to make it fun…Or better yet, invite Captain Hook and his crew to do your dirty work!
As this special day approaches I hope many of you are planning to get involved in your communities.
What are your plans to make a difference?
Can you imagine what a wonderful place our world would be if every person did just one thing to make a difference.
Make a goal to perform a single random act of kindness! Pay it forward!
Don’t forget to get your children involved as well! Begin brainstorming with them now, talk about selflessness and giving. instill ideas of caring for others!
