The Fresno Unified School District and HandsOn California hosted the annual Hope for the Holiday’s event at the Fresno Convention Center on Sunday December 18, 2011. More than 500 families received a full Christmas Dinner, craft and face painting activities, entertainment from many local organizations and a special visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus! This event served as an opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the magic of the season and fellowship together.
A Wish Your Heart Makes characters were on site to pose for photographs with the children. The highlight of the afternoon was that each child left with a wrapped Christmas gift!
Santa Claus came to Porterville on Thursday December 15, 2011 to visit the families at Helping Hands! Helping Hands served dinner and brought families together to celebrate the magic of the season. Boys and girls were greeted by the Jolly Elf himself and were able to tell him just what they wished for at Christmas time!

The Jedi Master and Princess Leia have come out of hiding from the Empire to the Fresno sector, as rebel spies have spotted imperial forces in the area. Their only hope is to train up the younglings to defend against the power of the dark side!

A Wish Your Heart Makes, Enchanted Fairytale Parties for Children, would like to wish you a blessed Thanksgiving. We couldn’t do all that we do without the love and support, creativity and imagination of you, our friends, family, party planners and party guests!
We’d like to offer a fun to make, delicious to eat activity/dessert for your holiday gathering. All you need is a package of Oreo cookies, Reeses miniatures, malted milk balls, chocolate & vanilla frosting, candy corn, food coloring and imagination!!
To assemble turkeys: Place one cookie flat on a plate or table. Using a dab of frosting (as glue) balance a second cookie against the first cookie (to make the back) Place Reeses miniature on its side, flat against back cookie using a small dab of frosting. Top Reeses with a Malted milk ball (use a dab of frosting to secure) and balance against back of turkey. Position pieces of candy corn along the outside of the back cookie. (to look like feathers) Mix white frosting with yellow and red food coloring to add detail features (feet, waddle)
Not only are these little turkeys adorable, but they make great conversation pieces and create fun memories! Snap a picture and let us know how your turkey treats turned out!!!!

Sierra Performing Arts Studio and A Wish Your Heart Makes is proud to present a “Magical Sunday” featuring the most honored woman in magic, Charlotte Pendragon.
Magic show featuring Charlotte’s performance will be followed by “Magic School” where kids and adults alike will have the opportunity to learn the secrets of MAGIC!!
Cost:
Kids age 5-11 is $38
age 12-Adult is $58
price includes magic school instruction and supplies for 3 tricks (kids 11 and under) or 5 tricks ( teens/adults). Kids under 12 must be accompanied by a chaperone.
With a theme of “Headin’ for the gold” — the 2011 City of Hope Spectacular, scheduled for Feb. 26 2011 at the Buck Shaffer Memorial Auditorium will once again follow the traditional fast-paced variety show format of the past 48 years!
The City of Hope Spectacular is not only entertaining but has an important purpose behind it.
It is the local City of Hope auxiliary’s major fund raiser for the City of Hope National Medical Center and its Beckman Research Institute in Duarte, in Southern California. There, patients with unusually serious diseases are treated, and cutting edge research in cancer and HIV takes place.
Come and see Miss Brown perform, sing and dance with Susan Pallas of Sierra Performing Arts Studio in Visalia a hip-hop routine to Miss Brown’s Musical CD!
